Alongside the practice of yoga with your family, below are suggestions for taking care of yourself. We realize how hard you’re working to give your little yogis a great life but putting yourself first is also important. As Emerson said, “the first wealth is health.”
Choose a tip from the list at least once a month or more.
1. Resolve to get physical
Take a walk in the neighborhood.
Stretch or do a yoga move with your child.
Rent a kayak and enjoy the lake.
Put on that bike helmet and get on a trail.
Sign up for a 5K walk or holiday run.
Give some love to your garden or yard.
2. Pamper yourself
Give yourself a calming facial.
Add bubbles or essential oil to a hot bath.
Schedule a massage or some time at a spa.
Take a twenty minute nap.
Buy a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
3. Brain Boost
Write a few sentences about a topic mentioned by your child.
You save their artwork; why not create a sketch yourself and post it on the fridge.
Set five minutes on a timer. Sit comfortably (eyes open or closed) and just be.
What are your friends reading? Start a book or reread one from your past.
Do any type of puzzle.
4. Do a new thing
Go to a new yoga class or social event.
Visit a local landmark for the first time.
Have you tried Geocaching?
Start writing your memoir a sentence at a time if need be.
5. Make time for your friends
