Vrksasana or Tree Pose is a great balancing posture for children to focus on their foot placement, leg strength and shoulders. Bring imagination into this pose by asking children to grow out their branches (arms) and imagine what color leaves they have. Make sure children place their foot below or above the knee, protecting the knee and joints from pressure!
Tree Game: Get children into tree pose and go through the different seasons with children mimicking how they can effect trees and adapt to the seasons. Can your tree weather the wind or snow? Shake of your branches and switch sides.
